Fascist Attacks and Threats & Four Questions & and Invitation to Protest in Chicago

Trumpism-Fascism Report for June 13, 2025

My updated list of “king” Trump47’s top tyrannical and fascist transgressions as of June 11, 2025 was published on CounterPunch yesterday. Read it here.

Let’s look at some more recent stories of fascist aggression in America.

“You Can Only Imagine What they are Doing to Farm Workers and Day Laborers”

Yesterday US Senator Alex Padilla (D-CA) was forcibly removed, thrown to the ground and handcuffed by federal agents as he tried to pose a question to the nation’s sadistic fascist Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem. “Hands off!,” Padilla shouted as federal gendarmes, muscled him out of Noem’s preposterous, lie-filled press conference. “I am Senator Alex Padilla. I have a question for the secretary.”

Padilla said something smart after his ordeal: “If this is how this administration responds to a senator with a question, if this is how the Department of Homeland Security responds to a senator with a question, you can only imagine what they’re doing to farm workers, to cooks, to day laborers out in the Los Angeles community and throughout California and throughout the country.”

“Liberating Socialist Los Angles”

Padilla felt compelled to interrupt Noem after she said that the National Guard and ICE and other federal gendarmes were occupying Los Angeles “to liberate the city from the socialists and the burdensome leadership that this governor and that this mayor have placed on this country and what they have tried to insert into the city.”

Justifying repression and violence in the name of fighting “socialism” and calling thoroughly bourgeois politicians like California governor Gavin Newsom and Los Angeles Karen Bass mayor “socialists” (a supposedly terrible thing to be) are hallmark characteristic of fascist rhetoric.

“We Will Kill You Graveyard Dead

Yesterday the fascist elected county sheriff of central Florida’s Brevard, Wayne Ivey, said this to any anti-ICE protesters who “use violence or interfere with law enforcement:… [you] will be met with force, potentially lethal force… we will be notifying your family where to collect your remains at, because we will kill you graveyard dead.”

While acknowledging that peaceful protest is a democratic right in the United States, Ivey promised the fascist police state murder of anyone who is perceived as obstructing his county police as they assist federal gendarmes in the fascist round up of brown skinned immigrants.

The neo-Confederate sheriff added that “if anyone tries to mob a car, they will likely be run over and dragged across the street. If anyone strikes a deputy, they will be going to the hospital and likely will be bitten by one of the agency’s big, beautiful dogs.”

Trump Worse Than the Sheriff

There’s a sick and obvious synergy between Sheriff Ivey’s language and that of his Dear Leader Mein Trumpf. Trumpf said this the other day about potential protests of his big fascist military parade in Washington DC tomorrow: "We're going to celebrate big on Saturday…If any protesters want to come out, they will be met with very big force."

"People that want to protest will be met with big force. This is people that hate our country. They will be met with heavy force."

(Please review the final paragraphs of my CounterPunch piece linked above – a revision and expansion of my last written Substack – for a summary of what this parade is all about)

On first glance, one might think that Ivey’s comments, promising death to unruly protesters, are worse than Trump’s since Ivey, unlike Trump swore to literally kill and maim protesters.

But look again.

Ivey at least specified protester “violence” and “interfere[nce] with law enforcement” as the cause for the supposedly justified use of lethal force by the state.

Trump targeted protest as such. He threatened “protesters” and “people that want to protest.”

He levelled his intimidation at constitutionally protected free speech and public assembly, making no qualifications regarding violence or confrontation with the authorities.

Ivey at least said that people have the right to peacefully protest in the USA. Peaceful protests, he said, “are part of our democracy.”

Mein Trumpf said nothing of the sort: he just said that protesters and protest will be “met with big force” and “heavy force.”

Not for Nothing

And please note also that Trumpf did not specify who might be applying this “heavy” force. He thereby left the door open for the possibility that he is telling Proud Boys, Oath Keepers, and other fascist paramilitaries to attack peaceful protesters on No King’s Day.

It’s not for nothing that Trump47 on his first day back in office pardoned more than 1500 January 6 putschist criminals and granted clemency to the nation’s top two fascist paramilitary leaders (Oath Keepers’ head Stuart Rhodes and Proud Boys’ chief Enrique Tarrio), both of whom were serving long federal prison sentences for their roles in coordinating the Capitol Riot.

Trump wants these neo-Nazis out and about to terrorize those who speak up against his fascist agenda.

Four Questions

Going forward I am looking at four questions that will help us gauge how far down the road to consolidated and normalized fascism we are in June of 2025:

+1. Will the country’s leading backbone anti-fascist organization Refuse Fascism (formed in November of 2016) be allowed by Trump and his backers to peacefully protest Trump’s big fascist military parade in Washington DC without facing violent repression (state and street fascist repression) tomorrow?

2. Will the peaceful nationwide “No King’s Day” protests being held tomorrow across the country in at least 1500 cities and towns spark the fascist Trump regime to escalate repression and perhaps declare the Insurrection Act to justify federal and federalized military repression of anti-Trump protest beyond Los Angeles?

3. How will Republifascist governors and other fascist government officials – mayors, county board members, city council members, state attorney generals, county sheriffs, police chiefs and more – respond to mass protests against Trump’s fascist conduct?

4. How will federal judges in US 9th District Court Appeals and perhaps the Supreme Court rule on a district judge’s Thursday ruling against Trump’s absurd takeover and deployment of the California National Guard to repress anti-deportation protests in Los Angeles? If Trump doesn't like what he gets from that Appeals court he will go to the right-wing Supreme Court that he and his allies in the US Senate created during his first administration.

It was ridiculous for Trump to call limited protests in 5 square miles of a 500-square-mile city a "rebellion against the authority of the federal government" necessitating the federalization of the California National Guard and deployment of Marines. It seems that the legal issue now is this: do the highest courts in the land show deference to obvious reality or do they show deference instead to the wannabe strongman’s twisted fascist definition of reality? If the latter, that is a very bad sign.

Anticipatory Obedience?

I have another question in relation to tomorrow’s No Kings Day protests: would centrist electoral Democratic Party-affiliated Indivisible and leftish 50501 like to explain how their insistence that no protests be held in Washington DC itself is not an example of cowardly anticipatory obedience and thus egregiously contrary to humanity’s existential need to remove Trump from power as soon as humanly possible?

“I Think It’s Been Excellent”

In other news, on the imperial front, the Trump fascist regime absurdly claimed not to have approved the air war that the genocidal US client state Israel is now waging on Iran. This claim is disingenuous (imagine that). In reality, Israel would not have gone ahead with its attack without Herr Trump’s approval. Trump has called Israel’s attacks “very successful” and used them to tell Iran to “make a deal” on suspending its nuclear weapons program. This morning on his sick Orwellian Truth Social account, the world’s leading fascist and “most dangerous criminal in human history” (as Noam Chomsky described Trump five-plus years ago) boasted about how he has “told [Iran’s leaders] that the United States makes the best and most lethal military equipment anywhere in the World, BY FAR, and that Israel has a lot of it, with much more to come…And they know how to use it.”

The deranged and demented fascist asshole who sits in world history’s most powerful and dangerous job told CNN today that the US "of course" supports Israel "and supported it like nobody has ever supported it".

"I think it's been excellent," the Malignant One said about Israel's assault in an ABC interview. “The US gave Iran a chance, but they didn't take it…They got hit about as hard as you're going to get hit. And there's more to come - a lot more."

The orange-sprayed Hitler-admirer told the Wall Street Journal that the White House and Pentagon “got more than just a heads-up” from Israe: "We know what's going on." He described Israel's latest murderous attacks on Iran as “very successful…to put it mildly."
